We sometimes get proposal requests where the cost of the soils report seems the main selecting criteria. For someone who has been in the soils and foundations field for a quarter century, let me assist you:
- You want a smaller firm. The smaller firms are more responsive and have smaller overhead. We are less than a dozen people in the number of staff.
- You want a firm that specializes in residential work – 85% of our work is for new residence, residential distress, residential slope repair & residential addition
- You want a firm that is current with state of the art. We practice in the challenging soils of California, teach seminars, write books, file for patents, and produce industry software.
- You want a firm that will stay with you. We never abandon a client. If you start with us, we stay with you through construction.
Currently, about 70% of our work is referral. So sometimes, we may not be able to take more than a handful of new jobs. However, in most cases we will tell you of our current work load.
We have been told that our rates are reasonable, we answer our calls most of the time without it going to answering machine and that we produce practical solutions.
As you can see price should not be a factor in choosing your geotechnical consulting firm. Call Foundation Engineering Consultants, Inc., and see how we can be of assistance.
